We are living in a knowledge society, which is dominated by information in its most diverse formats. Internet and digital information sources have provided us with wealth of information in abundance. Information has gained importance in every sector of societies and health sector is not an exceptionand health professionals are increasingly finding that they have more information available than they can handle with confidence in their busy time schedules and the hardest task now is to actually locate the information required from the flood of information received. Major problem appears to be the difficulty of identifying and filtering the most useful, accurate and credible sources while searching online for health information. for conducting their activities related to human care, academic and research pursuits.References

This paper presents the findings of a survey of the information literacy programmes being provided at the engineering colleges in Navi Mumbai, India. The content and methods of delivery of these literacy programmes to the library users are examined: Study revealed that majority of libraries are providing information literacy programmes at the beginning of the academic year and librarian is the lone person providing this. Faculty or external agencies are not engaged. Methods used for delivering are limited to brief introduction by lecture method and library tours. Web based instructions are not provided. Majority of libraries agree that ICT has had great influence on literacy programmes. Study also revealed that majority of libraries are not conducting any evaluation of these literacy programmes. Several suggestions re given to improve the IL programmes. Keywords

As the acceptance and popularity of e-resources increases day by day, the number of e-journals and the on the databases that the faculty and students of management and allied subjects want to access is increasing geometrically. Though libraries have considerable e-resources presently in their collection, it is not sufficient to meet the growing needs of the users. In such a scenario, a solution that ensures access to a wider array of online databases at a much lesser cost is through consortium of libraries. Hence, more and more specialist libraries are opting for it.
This study based on a survey of select libraries examines in some detail the availability of e-resources, their utilization at the management institute libraries affiliated to the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. Further it also studies the librarians' opinion about formation of Mumbai Management Libraries Consortia.
